What's included in our workshops?
Our Amazon Think Big Space mobile brings the Think Big Space experience into your classroom!
Your students will collaborate to work as innovators, problem solvers, and engineers, leveraging technology and coding to complete our range of fun challenges.
Our workshops follow a 'learning through play' model and are hands-on, engaging, and educational.
They provide students with a positive experience that will ignite a passion & curiosity for STEM.
How it works?
Our team of expert facilitators will visit your school and run a series of fun, engaging and hands on STEM workshops.
We provide all of the resources required from laptops and tablets to a range of great STEM sets.
All we require is a classroom with tables and chairs, ideally an interactive screen or project to display a presentation and some students hungry to learn and have fun!
(Ideally we would be setup in the one classroom for the duration of the day, but we can move from class to class if required)
How many children can you cater for?
We can accomodate up to three classes per day and we are very flexible on timings etc. and will work with you to create the best possible experience for you and your students.
We can cater for one class of up to 30 children per workshop (three workshops per day)
Will I need to be present for the workshop?
We ask that all class teachers remain with their class for the duration of the workshop, this is a great opportunity to see STEM learning in action and join in the fun!
This all sounds great, how do I book?
In order to book a free workshop at the Think Big Space, confirm that you are within our cachment areas of Prince William County. Then choose the date that best suit you and your students, fill in the required information.
What then?
You will recieve an email to confirm your booking submission and a member of our team will reach out to you within 48hrs to finalise the booking and confirm details.
Our STEAM facilitators will then arrive at your location 30 minutes ahead of your start time in order to move our equipment into your space and set up ahead of the students arrival and run workshops as per the schedule set at the time of booking.
Examples of our range of Amazon Think Big Space Workshops
Solar System Exploration
In this hands-on workshop, students will program Ozobots to model Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars revolutions around the Sun.
Using color codes, they explore planetary speeds and distances, highlighting the relationship between distance from the Sun and orbital speed.
Discovering Data
In this workshop, students will take on the role of engineers developing a robot for use in a data centre.
Undertaking a challenge to build a robot that can transport servers from racks in a data centre to a maintenance area, investigate how they can best program it to move around safely, and gather data to determine how effective it will be in use.
Weather and the Cloud
Leveraging the power of the Cloud, students will build a weathercaster that retrieves live weather data from across the globe!
They will program the model to display sunny, rainy, and cloudy conditions and compare forecasts with real-time data.
